Hands of Hope Internship
13 March 2018Casa de Esperanza provides residential care to children birth through six who are in crisis due to abuse, neglect, or the effects of HIV. Care is provided in our neighborhood by our Hands of Hope interns. Information about our internship may be found here:

Healthy Community Initiative (HCI) needs short (1.5 to 2 min) videos to highlight the success of more than 20 supported programs. The videos produced by the summer Fellowship will be shared through social media accounts and on their website. Additionally, the videos will be used in presentations and reports to grant funders and donors to both thank them for their financial backing and to inspire additional giving.

Growing Up Healthy works with partner organizations and immigrant and refugee families to transform communities through cultivating neighborhood leadership, fostering social connectedness, and collectively advocating for change within neighborhoods and systems. The fellow would work to advance the organization’s mission by engaging in data analysis, grant reporting, and community-based activities, events, and projects.

The fellow would work in HealthFinders’ primary medical and dental clinics to support direct patient care. Over the course of the summer the fellow would have the opportunity to identify a process improvement project, research and implement changes, and study if the changes made an impact on the proposed problem. The work itself would often be self-directed, but also immensely supported by front-line health workers, clinic support staff, and clinic leadership, with opportunities to attend meetings, conferences and/or trainings.

ScribeAmerica – Medical Scribes 2018

The scribe will work one on one with board-certified physicians assisting with documentation for each patient evaluated by the doctor. It is an exceptional opportunity for anyone interested in medicine to gain first-hand experience following a physician in an emergency department setting.
Paid classroom & clinical training is offered. Each employee will have multiple training sessions both in the classroom and the department during which we teach extensive medical terminology and appropriate medical/legal charting documentation.
