The Lipinski lab’s research is dedicated to understanding how genetic and environmental influences interact in causing common human birth defects, like clefts of the lip and palate. We are recruiting a research intern to our ongoing investigation into the role of DNA methylation in orofacial clefting. Following training the team member will be responsible for conducting animal experiments, tissue dissection and imaging, modified CRISPR/cas9, qPCR, DNA and RNA extraction, and methylome transcriptome data analyses. The successful candidate will also engage our research team and campus collaborators to plan experiments, analyze and interpret data, and prepare research manuscripts.

Paid Research Technician Opening at the Dana Farber Institute’s Bandopadhayay Lab Outside link
24 January 2025The Bandopadhayay Lab (www.bandolab.org) at DFCI (with co-affiliations with Boston Children’s Hospital and the Broad Institute) is seeking a motivated research assistant to join our efforts to find better treatments for children with brain tumors. We apply cutting-edge genomic technologies to identify drivers of childhood cancers and to determine mechanisms of resistance to current and novel treatments. Our lab is highly translational and spans efforts from acquiring patient samples to generating and analyzing high-throughput datasets from those samples through to functional genomics and mechanistic biology. To that end, the individual will engage in experiments that utilize molecular biology techniques such as cell culture methods, recombinant DNA and gene transfer technology, and other cell biology assays including the use of genetic perturbation approaches such as CRISPR and base-editing technology. There will be opportunities to learn and assist in computational methods of analysis. The individual will also
assist in daily laboratory operations and organization. -

OHSU PREP is a one-year, NIH-funded research intensive postbaccalaureate research program. 10 December 2024The NDSU CHANGE program provides mentored research experiences to recent college graduates. Participants in the CHANGE network join a cohort of trainees in a robust training environment that provides professional development and mentorship from a diverse network of biologists from Universities, federal government, industry, and nonprofits. Participants will join a cohort of recently graduated students and will be immersed in hands-on research during our year-long program. Students earn $32,500, with an additional $4,000 to cover health care expenses. Paid Position as Clinical Research Coordinator in Pediatric Oncology in Johnston ’04 Lab at University of Alabama-Birmingham
29 October 2024Emily Johnston is an assistant professor and pediatric oncologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and Carleton grad (’04). She does research on disparities in end-of-life care. Emily is hiring a clinical research coordinator to join the team. The coordinator would be a part of a multidisciplinary research team and would help with bereaved parent surveys and interviews, chart reviews, and coordinating study activities, among other duties.
