UPRIME is a 10-week summer program hosted by the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology at the University of Minnesota and sponsored by an American Heart Association award. Each awardee is given the opportunity to conduct physiology research in their area of interest with a research faculty member in the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology. Each awardee is also given a stipend of up to $6000.00.

Yale-Mentored Research Opportunity – Global Health Experiential Fellowship Outside link
24 January 2025Global Health Experiential Fellowship is a 5-week global health research opportunity with the opportunity to conduct global health research in collaboration with Ugandan master’s and bachelor’s students under Yale School of Medicine mentors Dr. Robert Rosenheck and Dr. Yang Jae Lee. This rigorous program has gained recognition as a gold-standard in global health education. Its impact is highlighted in a forthcoming paper under review in the Annals of Global Health, co-authored by global health leaders such as Dr. Brandon Kohrt, Dr. Robert Rohrbaugh, and Dr. Peter Waiswa. Over the past two years of the fellowship, over 80% of participating fellows have or will become co-authors of a peer-reviewed scientific article; some examples can be found here, here, and here. Fellows will develop transferable skills useful in all fields, but particularly in medicine, research, and public health. The UMass Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) Summer Undergraduate Research Program is a non-credit, ten-week, structured research experience. The program consists of “hands-on” laboratory research with an investigator serving as a mentor, role model and advisor. The Summer Undergraduate Research Program is funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the UMass Chan Provost’s Office.

CCMC’s Summer internship program has grown steadily since 2012 based on the extraordinary feedback from past interns and the equally positive experience that clinical faculty have experienced while working with bright, highly talented, and motivated students.

Students may apply for an internship position in any or all of these 9 pediatric sub-specialty areas. The application deadline is program specific – with some deadlines in mid-February and others in early March. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their application as early as possible. The most promising candidates will, on a rolling basis, be invited to interview by Zoom. Notification of decisions will be made within weeks of the application deadline, if not sooner.

The 2025 M-SURE program will support 16 undergraduate trainees for a summer research experience with mentors from an outstanding pool of faculty investigators engaged in cutting-edge basic and clinical research related to diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolic diseases. The funding amount for 2025 will be $7200, pre-tax, for twelve weeks of full-time work from May 27 through August 15. The start and/or end date of the fellowship may be shifted slightly to accommodate overlap with the academic year at home institutions, if necessary. Students who are currently enrolled at any degree granting university or college are eligible to apply. Preference is given to those students interested in a career in research. Although federal funding is limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents, we will have a few slots available for international students.
