- PHYS 145 – Introductory Physics (143 would also be acceptable)

Pharmacy schools usually require or strongly recommend other upper level chemistry or biology courses (Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Molecular Biology, etc.), as well as a certain number of Economic courses. Because of the need to deal with differing drug and manufacturer costs as well as the healthcare market in general, many pharmacy schools require Microeconomics at the minimum. Oral communication skills are especially valued; ENGL 220 is a recommended course for this criteria.
By taking these classes, it is expected that pharmacists have a strong background in math and science and are able to gather, analyze, and understand medical data. Additionally, they should have excellent written and oral communication skills and be capable of operating medical equipment and other machinery used in research.
