Carleton Students Experience & Study Myanmar’s Social Changes by Living in Villages

9 February 2015

The Democratic Voice of Burma reported that Carleton College’s off-campus study program Political Economy of Southeast Asia is the first of its kind by an American university since Myanmar’s independence.  It reported that students from Carleton College lived in four villages in the Sagaing Region of upper Myanmar during the month of January and continued their intimate study of Myanmar people’s life along the Irrawaddy River by cruising from the ancient city of Bagan to Mandalay during the first week of February. Professor Tun Myint (program director) and students are interviewed in this video.
