U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar seeks a detailed-oriented outreach and scheduling assistant with sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills to assist in day-to-day outreach operations and scheduling and help conduct outreach to military and veterans’ organizations. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, be a dependable problem solver, be able to think on their feet, work well under deadlines, and bring a strong interest in community outreach and local Minnesota issues. Key responsibilities include:
- Outreach: Assist in organizing and vetting incoming requests and invitations; maintain events management files – include recordings and final documents – and assist with record retention organization; support the work of the outreach team in advancing events and helping with equipment; represent the Senator at community events (as needed), and provide administrative support to the Outreach Directors and Deputy State Director as needed.
- Scheduling: Assist the MN Scheduler with organizing and prioritizing incoming scheduling requests and compile draft documents when needed.
- Military and Veterans Affairs: Serve as a liaison — in concert with our Senior Advisor — with MN Military and Veterans Affairs personnel; attend appropriate events on behalf of the Senator; and advance events with the Senator in MN where appropriate. Additionally, this person will support our Military Academy Nomination process.
Position is full-time and based in Minneapolis, MN. Flexible work hours are required, especially when the Senator is working in Minnesota. Salary commensurate with experience. Applicants with prior military service are strongly preferred.
