9/30 Startup Fellowship Competition

23 September 2021

Dear Economics and Computer Science students,

This year we will once again be running a Startup Fellowship competition! Teams of 2-3 students will compete to win a $10,000 fellowship to fund an entrepreneurial venture (either for-profit or social).  The kickoff information session will be held next Thursday, Sept 30 from 12-1pm in Willis 204. Lunch will be provided.

We’ll get your thoughts jump-started by hearing from last year’s winners and I’ll introduce you to Jake Phillips (’07), and Jamie Glover (’06) our Entrepreneurs in Residence who are available for monthly meetings with you. We’ll have time for introductions to foster team formation, so even if you don’t have a clue about what you would propose, we want you there so that you can network with others who might form a team with you.

This fellowship is intended for students from all departments. While many participants in past years have been from CS and econ, we’ve also had proposals from students in ENTS, Studio Art, Political Science, Music, American Studies, etc. Encourage friends to join in!

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. If you are interested in this year’s competition and can’t make the kickoff, please drop me a note so that I can keep you informed about this year’s competition.
Hope to see many of you on the 30th!

Best,
Nathan
