New PoliSci faculty member in NYT

Christina Farhart, who will begin teaching in the Carleton College Department of Political Science next fall, is mentioned in the New York Times, 2/15/2017. The article, “Why More Democrats are Now Embracing Conspiracy Theories,” includes a link to the study “Conspiracy Endorsement as Motivated Reasoning: The Moderating Roles of Political Knowledge and Trust” by Joanne M. Miller, University of Minnesota; Kyle L. Saunders, Colorado State University; and Christina E. Farhart, University of Minnesota.

Farhart will teach POSC 210 Misinformation, Political Rumors, and Conspiracy Theories next winter, POSC 273 Race and Politics in the U.S. in fall 2017, and POSC 302 Subordinated Politics and Intergroup Relations in spring 2018. She will also teach two sections of POSC 122 during the year.
