Though it is only the end of fall term, now is the time to start making plans for summer research. Over winter break give some thought about what you would like to do next summer. When you get back from the break, the application deadlines for the various summer opportunities will come up quickly. The first two deadlines are for the Summer Science Fellows Program on January 15 followed shortly by the CBL Research Scholars Program.
Several professors in the Physics & Astronomy Department will be hiring students to do research during the summer. If this interests you, talk to should talk with the faculty member you wish to work with by Feb. 15. More information about summer research in Physics & Astronomy can be found at here. The Kolenkow Reitz Fund for Undergraduate Research which funds students doing research both on campus and off has an application deadline of March 1.
