Run for the SPS Council!
Election season is here, and the Society of Physics Students (SPS) is seeking passionate undergraduate leaders to shape the future of our community. This is your chance to represent SPS members and chapters in your zone at the regional and national levels.
As an Associate Zone Councilor (AZC), you will:
- Advocate for the voice of SPS members.
- Influence policy changes that benefit the society.
- Serve on committees that impact SPS programs and events.
- Develop leadership skills and build a professional network that lasts a lifetime.
We are seeking AZCs in all 18 zones. Nominate yourself, or if you know a student who wants to further their leadership experience, encourage them to apply!
In addition, Zone Councilor (ZC) positions are open for re-election in Zones 2, 5, 6, 7, 12, and 17. If you are an SPS advisor, professor, department chair, or someone dedicated to advancing the SPS mission, consider nominating yourself or another committed individual.
Finally, the SPS President role is also up for election. Dr. Kiril Streletzky has provided exceptional leadership over the past four years, and we are grateful for his contributions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to step into this impactful role.
Why Get Involved?
The SPS Council plays a pivotal role in advancing our community’s mission. This year is especially exciting as it’s a Congress year, and the Council will convene at the 2025 Physics and Astronomy Congress in Denver, CO, with all expenses covered. Don’t miss this chance to lead and serve. Submit your nomination or encourage a colleague to apply.
