Solar eclipse campsites available for rent in Wyoming

Interested in seeing the total eclipse of the Sun this August 21?  Carleton alum Patti Kimble (whose son Roy Cady-Kimble is a current junior) has offered to rent campsites near Casper, Wyoming to Carls who are interested in going.   Based on historical data, there is a 35% chance of clouds, which is among the best stats along the whole eclipse track (though of course does not guarantee clear skies!)  For further information, contact Roy at cadykimbler@carleton.edu . This note is for your information only, and is not to be taken as an endorsement of this particular option.

You are invited to Casper, Wyoming for the Solar Eclipse Festival

The Eclipse will reach totality at 11:43 am, Monday, August 21st and chances are very good that the sky will be cloudless in Casper.

We have land on the south face of Casper Mountain, which should be a premier viewing area that day.  There will be no light pollution in our area and since it is private land, there will not be crowds. Tent sites on our land are $200 per person for the Weekend of the festival (Friday – Monday) or $100 per person for one night.
Amenities:

o  Portable Restroom

o  Camp Breakfast provided

o  Rides from the airport if necessary

o  Fire pits (if fire danger allows)

o  Special group rates will be considered
