A Humerus Discussion of Physics

Bones hold us up. Without them we would be a puddle of flesh, guts and muscle on the floor. Bones are a very important structure in our bodies, but they are susceptible to fracture and growth defects. In order to fully understand and appreciate our bones, we must first understand at how bones are formed. We then must analyze the material properties of bones and how they can be measured. We then look at some of the potential dangers to bones, how they fracture, and how they are imaged for diagnosis. Finally, we find ways to stimulate bone growth using mechanical stimulation and electric stimulation to improve the quality of bones.
