We are proud to announce that the February 2018 edition of the Physics InSight slideshow is now available!

As in previous editions, this month’s slideshow includes lots of colorful slides on diverse physics careers and topics. Material in this month’s edition includes:

  • Profiles of Ramon Barthelemy, physics and astronomy grad student and advocate for underrepresented groups in STEM; Christina Barrow, medical physicist at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs; Deborah Berebichez, financial risk analyst and science outreach superstar; and SPS Intern Brean Prefontaine, who worked on a project about women and African Americans in the sciences.
  • Data highlighting the primary areas of employment for physics BS graduates in the private sector, as well as the latest starting salary information for physics bachelors compared to other majors.
  • Information about valuable career resources for students, including the APS Online Professional Guidebook; the Vector, a special monthly publication just for undergraduate APS members; and a series of special events just for undergraduate students at the APS March and April Meetings, the Future of Physics Days events.
  • Information on the physics behind curing cancer, what happens when fire breaks out in space, and what it takes for fishes to swim their fastest!
