Physics and Applications of Ultrafast Laser Systems

Daisy Raymondson is a laser physicist with KMLabs, a company in Boulder, CO, which provides high average power, ultrashort pulsed lasers.  Ultrafast lasers have become crucial research tools for studying processes in materials and chemical and biological systems on the femtosecond timescale.  She will give an overview of the field of ultrafast lasers, her research background in ultrafast laser design, high-order harmonic generation, and coherent x-ray imaging, as well as perspectives on working in a small-business, high-tech manufacturing environment.
