Waveguides and Dry Wall: My varied work-life at Vescent Photonics
Vescent Photonics was founded to develop and commercialize a new technology platform: liquid crystal (LC) waveguides. These LC waveguides enable us to control the speed of light (in a medium), enabling a broad range of novel devices from non-mechanical beam-steers to frequency-agile lasers. An eight-person company run and owned by physicists and engineers, Vescent provides a work environment and business model very different from more established companies or venture-capital funded start-ups.
