I want to share an exciting summer REU with any physics majors curious to learn more about medical physics and medical devices with the US Food and Drug Administration in our Office of Science and Engineering Labs: OSEL Summer Research Program
This is a paid REU where students will be a part of a cohort on the FDA campus in the DC area to perform hands-on research in medical physics, and medical device evaluation. There are lots of available projects for both computational as well as physical studies: students can browse the catalog of projects, I will also be hosting 1 or 2 students to conduct studies in the evaluation of AI devices used in the emergency room, which can be found under the “Medical Imaging and Diagnostics Program” of the catalog.
