The IDEA team has been working on ways to make Physics seem more welcoming and accessible for first-year students. One current idea to do so is to create posters that show that there is no one stereotypical, rubber-stamp kind of person who studies physics. See below for a couple examples from current students. We’d love to make several more, even one for each physics major who comes through the department. If you are interested in having your own poster (these would be put up around the department, especially in the intro labs and around the ground state and 2nd Olin student spaces), please let Trenne know. All that’s needed is 3 photos of you and several bits of information about you and your path, which you can send in an email. Trenne will put the poster together for your approval before posting.
