With the new year 2024, we are glad to introduce several opportunities for Master’s and PhD students, available at Nordita:
First of all, we introduce our joint Master’s program in Theoretical Physics with the Department of Physics at Stockholm University. Please see the poster for details.
The enrolment deadline: April 15, 2024.
In addition to the standard obligatory courses, we at Nordita and the Dept. of Physics have developed a few brand new ones, including the ones taught by top-class Norditians, such as:
“Group theory and topology in physics”,
- “Open quantum systems”, and
- “Fluid mechanics and soft matter”.
- As a sibling of that, we have an on-going Master’s program at the University of Iceland.
The enrolment deadline: April 15, 2024.
Nordita members contribute via teaching both the obligatory courses and some optional ones, like
“Ergodicity and its breaking in classical and quantum systems”. - We also glad to announce the Summer school on Quantum Chaos, Dissipation and Information, which will take place at Nordita in September 16-20, 2024.
The application deadline: June 30, 2024.
This is another educational opportunity both for advanced Master’s students and PhD students. The list of lecturers with the corresponding topics can be found in the school website (above). - We remind you of the possibility for PhD students to visit Nordita for 1-2 months.

- Last, but not least, we are glad to announce the results of the recruitment to the first Nordita Summer Internship program for international Master’s students. We congratulate the first cohort of students from China, France, Germany, India, Netherlands, Sweden, and Ukraine, who will work with top researchers at Nordita, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and the Stockholm, Lund and Uppsala universities in their 2-4-month research projects.
