Grad programs at Illinois State U

The Illinois State University physics department is currently recruiting graduate students for the fall 2025 semester. We offer a two-year MS program requiring coursework and a research thesis. Application review begins after February 15 and applications will be accepted until April 1. Our department has 11 full-time faculty with funding for multiple graduate assistantships including tuition waivers. Research areas include particle theory, biophysics, AMO, nanomaterials, laser physics, nuclear physics, astrophysics, and plasma physics, among others.
