The successful candidate will help to develop and apply analytic techniques to a variety of sustainable energy questions. Duties will include:

  • Perform detailed research to develop designs for models and other analyses by distilling findings from technical literature, research colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Identify, specify, obtain, clean, and manipulate the (often large) datasets necessary to complete target analyses.
  • Develop system dynamics models, behavioral simulation models, and optimization models for decision support.
  • Construct trip generation and mode choice scenarios.
  • Create visualizations to facilitate analysis and communication of results.
  • Communicate results in written research reports, presentations at seminars, and participation in workplace discussions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, other researchers, clients, and stakeholders to design, implement, and report analytic studies.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mathematical and statistical skills and their application to modeling and analysis. The candidate must be willing to work in an interdisciplinary field, together with scientists, engineers, policy analysts, and computer scientists, and will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
