Earthquake Analyst position

23 April 2018

The Kansas Geological Survey at the University of Kansas has an opening for an Assistant Researcher Earthquake Analyst.   We require a bachelors in physics, astronomy, geophysics, electric or computing engineering, or related degree by the time of appointment and data analysis experience.  A student graduating with a B.S. this spring is ideal however we are willing to consider a later graduation if necessary.   This position will provide valuable experience for the successful candidate who will work with our geophysics research group, http://www.kgs.ku.edu/Geophysics/esIndex.html.

We are asking candidates to provide an example of how they have analyzed data from a previous research project, academic coursework or lab experiment.  It does not need to be a formal document, but a brief description (about a paragraph) explaining what kind of data it was, how they analyzed it (what steps you took to get from the raw data to an interpret-able result), and possibly one or two figures, if available.
