Electric Cars
Electric cars have always taken a back seat to internal combustion vehicles. Ever since cars were invented gasoline has been cheap and easy to obtain. Recently, rising gas prices and concerns about climate change have spurred a growth in alternative methods of transportation. Electric cars present the possibility of eventually replacing internal combustion cars and have seen a huge growth in both development and sales. This paper explores the physics behind electric cars and compares this to the physics of internal combustion cars. This includes motor technology, energy storage, and the efficiency of the both types of vehicles.
