From Einstein to Steinway: The Physics of the Piano
Abstract: Since its conception three centuries ago, the piano has provided a wide range of applications to many disciplines of physics. This includes waves, Newtonian mechanics, force equations, frequency analysis, and Fourier transform. My talk will analyze the motion and construction of the piano based on these principles.
