The RIT Science and Mathematics Educational Research Collaborative, an interdisciplinary Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER) group, will host a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program this year. Ten accepted students will be involved in mentored-research projects that focus on the theme of Models and Representations in STEM Education and will contribute to publishable research in DBER. Accepted students will participate in a unique “Spring Ahead” research session to work virtually, using video conferencing and online journal club discussions, with project mentors to learn about DBER and outline summer projects.

New Building light fixture public presentation
The College is looking for an artist to create a sculpture/light fixture to hang in the atrium of the new science building. We’re bringing four candidates to campus to give presentations, after which we’ll decide on an artist. The search committee is looking for student input! Please come to the public presentation given by Alexander Tylevich on Friday, Jan 11th , 3:30 pm in the Libe Athenaeum to see his ideas.
