Erik Scott ’87, PhD., Bakken Fellow, Technical Fellow and Director of Advanced Development at Medtronic Incorporated, Restorative Therapies Group.
Abstract: Very often, successful products require contributions from a variety of disciplines. This talk discusses how physics, electrochemistry and materials science come to bear to solve a special problem: creating a very high performance battery to supply power for medical devices implanted in the human body.

Free Yoga!
Free Yoga in the Library!
The Northfield Public Library will offer a free gentle yoga class Saturdays in October, 8-9 am. (Oct. 7, 14, 21, 28) The class will be led by Friends of the Library member and local yoga teacher Bob Bruce. Bob has been joyfully teaching yoga for 15 years after being trained at Kripalu. This class is for teens and adults. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat. If you have any questions call the library at 507-645-6606.
