  • Master of Science in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy

Faculty from the Humphrey Institutes Master of Science in Science, Technology, and Public Policy program are hosting information sessions for prospective MS and MPP-STEP students on Wednesday, March 3 at 5:30 P.M. and Thursday, April 8 at 12:00 Noon. We would be delighted if you could RSVP to join us

    Creating science-based policy solutions

The MS program prepares students with science and engineering backgrounds and the MPP-STEP program prepares students with any undergraduate background to assume roles in public policy development, implementation, management, and leadership.  Students are taught to analyze and design policies for appropriate promotion and oversight of science and technology regionally, nationally, and internationally.  They explore the interactions between science & technology and society in interdisciplinary ways, using a problem-oriented approach.

    Wealth of learning opportunities

To complement Humphrey Institute courses, students are able to take additional coursework from a wide range of departments across the University of Minnesota, such as Natural Resources and Management, Conservation Biology, Management of Technology, Environmental Policy, Applied Economics, and Bioethics.

MS and MPP-STEP graduates enjoy many and diverse job opportunities available to them. Graduates end up in state and federal government, business, and non-profit  positions. Examples include 3M Regulatory Affairs, Energy Analyst at the Department of Economic Affairs, and Policy Analyst at the Great Plains Institute.

    Attend an information session

The information sessions will take place in room 205 of the Humphrey Center.  Beverages and pizza will be served. Faculty, current students, and admissions staff will speak briefly and answer questions.

Information sessions are a perfect introduction into academic programs, student life, and living and learning in the Twin Cities area. RSVP to attend one of our information sessions. You can also RSVP by calling  612-624-3800 or emailing  hhhadmit@umn.edu.
