Information Sessions at the Humphrey Institute
The Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota is happy to announce it is hosting information sessions about graduate programs in Public Policy and Urban and Regional Planning. Spring info sessions are:
- Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 5:30-7:00 PM
- Monday, February 15, 2010 from 5:30-7:00 PM
- Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 5:30-7:00 PM
- Thursday, April 22, 2010, 12:00-1:00 PM

The information session will take place in Room 215 Humphrey Center (Wilkins Room). Beverages and pizza will be served. Faculty and current students will speak briefly about our MPP and MURP programs and will also be available to answer questions.

PHYS 223 Offered in Spring
The Physics & Astronomy Department has decided to offer PHYS 223 in the spring. Presentation Skills in Physics is designed to help students improve their skills in oral and visual presentation of scientific topics. The course, which will be taught by John Weiss, will begin with readings and discussion of effective oral presentation skills. Students will report on physics-related topics of their choice (e.g., their previous summer’s research, or a topic studied in another course). Prerequisite: Physics 115, 151, 152, 153, 161 or 162.

Presentation on Approaches to Sustainable Infrastructure in Northfield and Abroad

The Carleton College Chapter of Engineers Without Borders will be giving a presentation to share the details of their efforts in Northfield and Ccapacmachay, a rural community situated high in the Peruvian Andes.
