• Student Research Presentation by Sean Sweetnam

    Join Sean as he discusses his summer research. The title of Sean’ s talk is Assembly of a Time Correlated Single Photon Counting Experimental Setup at the National Renewable Energy Lab. Lunch will be served and Sean will start talking at approximately 12:30.

  • Physics Table

    September 20 (Thursday) 12:00-1:00 pm, LDC 113

    Plan to have lunch with physics students, faculty and staff at the LDC at noon. We can meet on 3rd Olin at 11:55 for the short walk over or you can meet us there. All are welcome.

  • Student Science Poster Session

    The All Science and Math Sigma Xi Poster Session is scheduled for Friday, October 19 in the Hulings Atrium. All students who did summer research at Carleton or elsewhere are strongly encouraged to make a poster and share their work with the science community.

  • Student Research Laboratory Space

    The student research laboratory space is now open for use in Olin 312 to work on research, course, or personal projects. You have access to tools, a drill press, soldering equipment, and electronics supplies. There are also a couple computers and an area to study including white boards. The Carleton Robotics Club will also be headquartered there and you are encouraged to check them out. Direct questions about equipment use, supplies, learning to solder, key access, or whatever to Tom Baraniak (Olin 208). Suggestions for improving the space are also welcome. Note that this space is for everyone necessitating some rules which are posted in the room.

  • Senior Meeting

    September 21 (Friday) 3:30-4:30 pm, Olin 04

    All senior physics majors should plan to attend this important meeting to discuss your senior year and preparing for life after Carleton. Any juniors thinking of doing comps this year should also plan to attend. Refreshments will be served.
