• DiversiTea

    DiversiTEA is back in person!
Time: 6a (3:30-4:30 pm) on Oct 22nd (Fri)
Place: Outside in the amphitheater of the Anderson. Rain location: Atrium on the 1st floor of the Anderson
DiversiTEA is a place where people talk about issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community especially in the Physics and Astronomy department. This is our first time in a long time to have a relaxing tea time in person. With cookies, tea, and coffee offered by the department, we would like to gather suggestions for topics, videos, or podcasts for our coming events. Looking forward to seeing you there!

  • Joint poster session with St. Olaf students

We’re planning to hold a joint poster session with St. Olaf physics students on Wednesday, Oct. 20th from 3:30 – 5:00 pm in the Anderson atrium. If you did research last summer and/or presented a poster at the campus-wide research symposium, we’d like you to share your work with our St. Olaf colleagues! They will have 8-10 presenters and several faculty members come to share what they’ve been working on across the river. This is your chance to show off your research, learn some networking skills, and have a social gathering with treats!  Email Trenne at tfields@carleton.edu if you’re interested in presenting.

  • We believe every student deserves access to the best in STEM education, and we’re hiring educators at every level — including undergraduate and graduate students — to help us help…

  • ISO students to join the DCC!

Hey, Y’ALL!  We need students from each of the sophomore, junior, and senior classes to join us!  We’d like to have at least 2 different genders from each of these years represented.  You would get together ONE TIME PER TERM over lunch that the department provides, and talk about issues relevant to the department.  You are the bridge between the students and the faculty!  Please email Trenne tfields@carleton.edu if you are interested in collaborating with the department.
