Sign up for a slot by May 30. Please mark you calendar for a volunteer orientation on June 5. Shifts are determined by team but we are also looking for campus drivers. Free breakfast/coffee and lunch will be provided at the event as well as free t-shirts!
Team: Softball & Golf (Mens / Womens)
Role: Set up / Check In
Description: Your shift will begin at 7:15 and go until around 8:15.
This is the list of tasks that will need to be completed, the more people you have the quicker / easier it will be:
- Check In: Check in will open at 7:30 and run until 8. We will give you a list to keep track of people checking in
- T-Shirts: You will hand out tshirts as people check in. They only go to those that have paid, we will provide a list. T-shirt sizes are first come first serve.
- Number Writing: At the check in table we will need volunteers to write numbers on the participants. Write participant numbers on the left bicep and right calf.
- Transition Zone: Please see the map for how to chalk the transition zone (parking lot across from west gym)
- Finish Line Flags: We will have flags for you to line the sidewalk at the finish line (under the west gym bridge.
- Breakfast Set-Up: set up tables / food in front of west gym for participants and volunteers.
- Set Up Speakers: set up speakers by weak gym entrance
- Chairs at Timing Stations: place chairs at marked timing stations and the finish line.
Team: Swim
Role: Lap Counting
Description: Lap count for 750 swim
Team: Baseball, Basketball (M/W), Tennis (M/W)
Role: Timing
Description:
We will have 2 timers at 4 different stations. 2 timers at the pool by the exit door, 2 before the bike begins (stop sign), 2 before the run (top of the driveway) and 2 at the finish line. Everyone starts at same designated start time for each heat, running times are recorded on a spreadsheet that will be shared with you. DO NOT STOP WATCH. THIS IS NOT THEIR SPLIT TIME. THIS IS THE TOTAL RUNNING TIME.
Team: Soccer (M/W) and Volleyball
Role: BBQ / Other / On Call
Description:
Some volunteers will have to stay by the transition zone water station to ensure cups are filled and hand water out to racers. We will need crossing guards to direct traffic outside of west gym. Some volunteers will be driven out to the run course to watch the run course water station.
Additionally we will need help setting up and cooking lunch. We would appreciate any extra volunteers to stick around and cheer as people finish the race.
Team: Football & Track / Cross Country (M/W)
Role: Bike Course
Description:
Point bikers in the right direction and cheer them on – show up slightly before your shift to ensure familiarity with the course. Injured bikers could come up to you:

Download the Google Maps app and see the attached annotated map with corners to stand on. Stop by west gym before your shift to get vests and flags. 8 volunteers for each shift have to be driven to their spots (the last 4 on the sign up).
Team: Golf
Role: Clean Up
Description: Pick up any trash/recycling/compost, break down tables/chairs, take down flagging, pack up BBQ
