April 14th, “Signfiying on Scriptures: The Black Atlantic Reads the King James Bible,” a public lecture at 5:15pm by Vincent Wimbush, a scholar of religion and founding director of the Institute for Signifying Scriptures. His visit is sponsored by Phi Beta Kappa and Religion Department.

April 29th, a reception and lecture by Mary-Claire King in honor of the Carleton Phi Beta Kappa chapter’s 100th anniversary.

April 17th, “Ethnicity, Inc.,” public lecture at 4:00 p.m. by John Comaroff, the Hugh K. Foster Professor of African and African American Studies and of Anthropology, and an Oppenheimer Fellow in African Studies at Harvard. His visit is co-sponsored by the Phi Beta Kappa chapter, African and African-American Studies, the Dean of the College and Sociology-Anthropology.

April 29th, LTC Lunch. Martha Paas will be giving an LTC-PBK talk on health care reform, Income Inequality and Health Care Reform: The Gordian Knot, with a response by Ken Abrams.
