Dobrý Den and welcome to Prague!

Writing from the comfort of our apartment building with a gorgeous view of the city, its safe to say that Prague is quickly becoming a fan fav among Carleton students.

Our first night, we gathered for a very jet-lagged dinner at a local restaurant where we chatted, chowed down on some delicious pasta, and tried to keep our eyes open for just a few more hours…

With a day to ourselves, many Carls decided to spend it getting settled. One group decided to explore a hotel bunker in the heart of the city, while others went on hikes, or bought Czech groceries for the first time! Thanks to the guidance of our Czech roommates, we were able to navigate the self-checkout (which was much more involved than in the U.S.) and I was able to snag some yummy Czech yogurt!

On Sunday, we went on a scavenger hunt around the city, questing for major monuments, parks, famous clubs and more! My favorite spot that we visited was the Astronomical clock in the center of Old Town. On the hour, little figures representing vanity, greed, and death dance; the 12 Apostles pass by two open windows; and a golden chicken clucks at the conclusion.

That’s all for now, but check in soon for the next update from Prague! Čau!
