For our last dinner together we met at a restaurant called Pravěk, which means prehistory. In accordance with the restaurant’s theme, Bettina offered her most ferocious caveman face while someone who shall not be named was taking things a bit less seriously.

Not too far away, Danny seemed to be getting tired of pictures after 10 weeks of them. Fortunately, Kelsey was still willing to smile for the camera.

Only later could Kelsey be caught striking a pose worth a fight with a saber-toothed tiger.

To thank him for all of his help throughout the term, Ken showered Jiří with the finest gifts America had to offer. These included a Twix bar, a bottle of Jim Beam, a Simpson’s activity book, and a fresh order of Chicken McNuggets. Fortunately, though, these were not farewell gifts. On the contrary, and to everyone’s delight, Jiří will be visiting us at Carleton early in 2013. Thanks to Polly for the picture.

To express our own thanks, we got both Ken and Jiří a copy of the most beautiful piece of art we could find in central Europe: a framed copy of our group picture taken in Krakow, complete with all of our signatures.

After thanks were expressed and a toast was proposed, it was time to feast. When part of Bettina’s meal arrived, she made the hasty mistake of biting into a full clove of garlic. The result, she found shortly thereafter, was less than pleasant.

At some point, it was time for a few more group pictures at our tables.

Unfortunately, though, the other side of the restaurant was a bit blurry.

Thanks for joining us on our adventures this term!
