The final group trip outside of Prague lead students deep into the darkness of Kutná Hora.

Carleton students traded in Prague’s city air for South Bohemian breezes in Český Krumlov for the weekend.

An intense day spent at the Všeobecná Fakultní Nemocnice V Praze (General Teaching Hospital of Prague) consisted of three sessions focused on Sexual Paraphilias and Gender Identity Disorder.

The most intense experience of our guest lecture series took place at Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital, the largest one in the whole of the Czech Republic.

Carleton students had a special guest lecture at Dr. Ondrej Trojan’s clinic for individuals with sexual disorders in central Prague.

We visited the famous Wieliczka Salt Mine on day five. Our tour of the mine, which dates to the 13th century, took us about 450 feet underground.

We spent day four at the concentration camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau.

On day three the students had free time to explore the city. A few of us went to an historical pharmaceutical museum.

On day two we visited the former factory of Oskar Schindler and the former Jewish ghetto of Krakow (Kazimierz).
