Off-Campus Studies in collaboration with the Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR) at Carleton encourages and supports students with disabilities as they explore opportunities to study off campus, domestically and internationally.

Locations and programs offer varying degrees of access and the availability of accommodations can differ significantly. Because of this, accommodations granted on campus do not automatically transfer to OCS. OCS staff, faculty directors, and OAR work closely with students, faculty directors, and local partners to determine what is possible at each site.

For Carleton programs and Carleton Global Engagement Programs, accommodations are officially requested (enacted) on the Health Questionnaire, due at the time of commitment to the program. Some accommodations, such as single rooms, extra equipment, or professional services, may require special arrangements and are subject to availability. In these cases, students are highly encouraged to contact OCS or their faculty director early in the planning process. For non-Carleton programs, students should follow the processes outlined by the program sponsor and by the Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR).
