OCS Programs Make Real-World Impact

25 September 2019

In December 2018, a group of Carleton students, under the direction of professors Arjendu Pattanayak and Stephanie Cox, worked with Auroville Consulting to install the first grid-connected solar energy pump in Tamil Nadu, India. This contributed to the decision made by the Tamil Nadu Government to solarize 20,000 farms this year. This will add a cumulative solar energy capacity of 250 MW to Tamil Nadu’s energy grid. Currently, Auroville Consulting is engaged with the State Government in designing this program.

Congratulations to the students and faculty who made key contributions to this project!
