Focusing in on the OCS Photo Contest

14 February 2017

For over 30 years, the Off-Campus Studies Office has sponsored a photo contest for students who have participated in off-campus study programs, fellowships, and international internships.

Carleton students experience other nations and cultures in many different ways. They make life-long friends with homestay families and other participants on off-campus programs. Many expand their off-campus studies field research into senior comps projects when they return to campus or postgraduate study after Carleton. Others reframe their experiences as summer grant and fellowship proposals and extend their intercultural learning with follow-up research projects.

There are seven categories: People, Place, Story, Libraries of the World (sponsored by Gould Library), Food of the World (sponsored by Bon Appétit), Off-Campus Carls (sponsored by College Communications), and People’s Choice. Once the submission deadline passes in early April, OCS will send an invitation to the Carleton community to vote for their favorite photo as People’s Choice Winner.

You can check out past winners and finalists on the OCS website. If you would like to display an OCS photo or two in your office, please contact Leah Karels at x4332.
