Boyd-Niles Student Travel Fellowship

13 September 2017

Applications for the Boyd Niles Student Travel Fellowship are due October 2, 2017.

Established to recognize two great professors of medieval and Renaissance history at Carleton, Catherine Boyd and Philip Niles, the Boyd Niles Student Travel Fellowship is intended to allow students already studying abroad to pursue additional site visits or experiences that will enhance their understanding of the world between ca. 300 and ca. 1650, with a particular emphasis on Europe, the Mediterranean basin, and the broader Middle East. Each year at least two fellowships of up to $500 (one for Summer and Fall OCS programs; one for Winter and Spring programs) will be awarded to students who propose compelling site visits or experiences. Students receiving the prize will be expected to bring their experience back to campus in some meaningful way.

Students pursuing both Carleton and non-Carleton OCS programs will be considered.
