Walter Alvarez ’62 featured in children’s book on dinosaur extinction edited by Cheryl Klein ’00
Alvarez studied geology and Klein studied English at Carleton.
Walter Alvarez ’62 is one of the titular characters in a new nonfiction children’s book from Lee & Low Books titled, The Doomsday Detectives: How Walter and Luis Alvarez Solved the Mystery of Dinosaur Extinction. The book, which was edited by Cheryl Klein ’00, explores the mystery of what really happened to the dinosaurs through the many important scientific discoveries that aided Alvarez and his son in their search for answers.
