Synchrony II, formerly known as Ebony II, was founded by Debra McCray in 1973 for a Black History Week Observance program at Carleton. Since then, the student-run dance group has grown exponentially to include students of all backgrounds and incorporate various dance forms. It has become one of the most popular events attended by Carleton students, showcasing choreography and group performances from more than 100 dancers every term.

Styles are varied, ranging from technical contemporary dance to funkier moves like body rolls and shimmies. Since the group requires no more than two hours of rehearsal a week, Carls of all experience levels can easily fit it into their busy schedules to relax and have fun with their friends.
