Sheila Collins ’62 published a letter to the editor in The New York Times on February 16 titled, “Jesse Jackson’s Life and Legacy.”

“I was Jackson’s National Rainbow Coordinator for the 1984 presidential primary campaign and an economic consultant for his 1988 campaign,” Collins said. “My book on the ’84 campaign, The Rainbow Challenge: The Jackson Campaign and the Future of U.S. Politics, will be re-issued this spring with an updated preface relating Jackson’s campaign strategy and message to the kind of democratic politics we need today.”
