Sarah Bodansky ’21 featured by Lowell Observatory as key to binary star system discovery
Bodansky studied physics at Carleton.
Sarah Bodansky ’21, now a PhD student at University of Massachusetts–Amherst, was featured in a press release from Lowell Observatory titled, “Astronomers Reveal Massive Binary Star System in Milky Way.” Her work “made it possible to move this project forward.”
This binary star system, NGC 3603-A1, is one of the most massive binaries ever discovered in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Universe Today, Mashable India, and Daily Galaxy also covered this impressive accomplishment.
