Peter Franco ’14 Awarded Prestigious Princess Grace Foundation Award

Peter Franco ’14 (Newton, Mass.) has been named the recipient of a prestigious award from the Princess Grace Foundation-USA. A Cinema and Media Studies (CAMS) major, Franco was awarded an undergraduate scholarship in film. Franco is one of 24 winners, who will travel to New York City on October 30, 2013 to receive their awards at the 31st Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala, held in the presence of HSH The Princess of Monaco.

Franco says his films “focus on the forces that compel us to act against our nature, or what we believe to be our nature.” His most recent project, which received the 2013 Princess Grace Award, draws on his experiences as a gay athlete to tell a story about a high school football player dealing with his sexuality. The film will be released in 2014.
