Ken Abrams, professor of psychology, co-authored a paper with Thais Del Rosario Hernandez ’20, former Carleton academic technologist Andrew Wilson, and Aidan Choate titled, “Virtual Reality–Based Simulated Hallucinations to Enhance Empathy Toward Individuals With Schizophrenia” in The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease. The paper describes the response of psychopathology students who were placed in a VR version of Anderson Hall 121 and exposed to simulated visual and auditory hallucinations.
