Kate Meyer ’09, assistant professor of mathematics, published a research article, “Nitrogen-induced hysteresis in grassland biodiversity: a theoretical test of litter-mediated mechanisms,” in The American Naturalist. The collaborative project uses mathematical modeling to explore how dead plant material might prevent biodiversity from recovering after a temporary period of pollution.
