Julia Strand receives NIH AREA grant to conduct new research
Strand is associate professor and chair of psychology at Carleton.
Julia Strand, associate professor and chair of psychology, has received a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA). NIH AREA grants support research projects at undergraduate-focused institutions. Strand’s three-year project, “Listening effort and audiovisual speech by L1 (‘native’) and LX (‘nonnative’) English speakers,” builds upon her previous NIH-supported research and includes funding for student researchers and educational associates.
