Jennifer Hantho Appointed Executive Assistant to the President at Carleton College

Associate Dean of Admissions Jennifer Hantho has been appointed executive assistant to the president at Carleton College. She will begin the new position Nov. 23. Her responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations of the president’s office, and representing President Stephen R. Lewis, Jr., both on- and off-campus. Hantho replaces Joe Hargis, who has been appointed director of College Relations.

Associate Dean of Admissions Jennifer Hantho has been appointed executive assistant to the president at Carleton College. She will begin the new position Nov. 23. Her responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations of the president’s office, and representing President Stephen R. Lewis, Jr., both on- and off-campus. Hantho replaces Joe Hargis, who has been appointed director of College Relations.

Hantho has worked in Carleton’s Admissions Office since 1993. She brings 25 years of experience in higher education to her new role, having served in various admissions positions at Mount Vernon College, American University, Drake University, The College of St. Catherine and the University of Dallas.

At Carleton, Hantho has been responsible for overseeing the Alumni Admissions Program, coordinating admissions publications and travel by the admissions staff, and managing admissions volunteers. Last year, she served as a member of the subcommittee on admissions and financial aid for Carleton’s 21st-Century Committee.

Hantho has represented Carleton to prospective students, high school counselors and alumni, and has spoken on the subject of college and university admissions at local, regional and national professional meetings in the field.

A graduate of Texas Lutheran College, Hantho lives in Edina, Minn., with her husband and two children.
