Hardy publishes two essays

Rob Hardy, Research Associate in Classics, has published two new essays in Ploughshares and the online journal The Critical Flame. “‘We Live Close Together and We Live Far Apart'” (Ploughshares Winter 2016-2017), is about the American novelist and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Susan Glaspell, and appears both in print and online as part of the journal’s Look2 series of essays on neglected authors. “Love Behind Locked Doors: Phyllis Bottome in the Age of Trump” (The Critical Flame January/February 2017) reflects on British novelist Phyllis Bottome’s 1938 novel about the rise of fascism in Germany, The Mortal Storm.
