GSA Today features cover story on Carleton’s district-scale geothermal system

As part of the installation of Carleton’s district-scale geothermal system, a group of faculty, staff, and alumni designed a scientific experiment monitoring its efficiency. The results have now been published by the Geological Society of America in GSA Today as its cover story for October.
Chloé Fandel, assistant professor of geology; Dan Maxbauer, assistant professor of geology; Sarah Titus, department chair and professor of geology; Mary Savina ’72, Charles L. Denison Professor of Geology, emerita; Jon Cooper, technical director in geology; Kelton Barr ’72; Bob Tipping ’81; and former faculty and staff Bruce Duffy and Martha Larson all contributed to the research.
