Exhibit by David Lefkowitz Featured in Star Tribune
A new art exhibit by associate professor of art David Lefkowitz was recently featured in a Star Tribune preview of recommended summer gallery shows in the Twin Cities. On display through July 10 at Minneapolis’ Thomas Barry Fine Arts Gallery, “at or below see level” is a solo show that includes paintings, drawings and sculptures about the “limits of perception,” says Lefkowitz. Star Tribune art critic Mary Abbe notes, “His ironic and often inexplicable images suggest a world gone awry with the very best of intentions and worst results. Funny, sad, inexplicable and oh, so human.”

Lefkowitz was also one of 16 artists featured in “Going Yard! Art About Baseball” (April 24-May 22, 2010) at the Thomas Barry Fine Arts Gallery and one of 6 featured in “Shedding Light: Art Explores Science” (May 7-June 6, 2010) at The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wis.
In addition to “at or below see level,” works by Lefkowitz will also be featured in “Ordinarily Here,” a series featuring Minnesota artists at the University of Minnesota’s Weisman Art Museum (June 19-October, 2010), and “Impact” (July 16-August 27, 2010) at the Bloomington Art Center.
